MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The American Revolution in general, and Berkeley County’s role in particular, will be in focus when the Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center, Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust, and Old Santee Canal present “Colonial Day and Fort Fair Lawn.”
The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Old Santee Canal Park. The park is located at 900 Stony Landing Road in Moncks Corner.
Admission is $5 for adults, children age 6 and under are free.
“This is a family-friendly and fun event that has something for all ages to experience and learn from,” said Chelsy Clark Proper, Berkeley County Museum director. “We have more than a dozen history organizations participating.”

- Tours of Fort Fair Lawn, one of the few remaining essentially intact British forts in North America
- Musket and cannon demonstrations
- Historical interpreters
- Vendors and historical organizations
- Lectures, including one on Berkeley County’s native son Brig. Gen. Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox.
