Man Wanted For Pinopolis Burglaries Arrested In Georgia

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A Summerville man wanted for stealing property in the Pinopolis area is in jail following a lengthy investigation by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

Brendan James Boivin, 18, has been charged with burglary in the first degree, burglary in the third degree, grand larceny over $10,000 and failure to stop for blue lights and siren.

On June 30, 2023, Berkeley County deputies said they attempted to stop a car that was reported stolen with the Summerville Police Department. The vehicle fled to the Pinopolis area where the driver, later identified as Boivin, fled on foot. Boivin was not located at the scene.

The next day, deputies said they responded to two calls in the Pinopolis area in reference to two residential burglaries. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Boivin. During one of the burglaries, authorities said Boivin stole a vehicle and fled to the Savannah, Georgia area.

With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Boivin was located and taken into custody.

He was then transported to Florence County, South Carolina in reference to other charges. Upon being served with those warrants, Boivin was transported to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.

He has additional felony charges pending with the Summerville Police Department.
