HANAHAN, S.C. – Hanahan police announced Thursday an arrest in a double homicide that recently occurred at an apartment complex.
Police said the suspect was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
“Due to the individual’s age and the fact it is still an ongoing investigation, no further information is being released at this time,” HPD said in a news release.
On Sept. 30, 2023, the Hanahan Police Department responded to the South Point Apartments in reference to shots fired. When police arrived, they said they found two people dead.
Berkeley County Coroner identified the victims as Richmond A Fishburne, 32, and Dominique J. Fishburn, 30. The pair were brothers who resided in Hanahan.
Police have not revealed a motive for the shooting.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, the United States Marshals Service, SLED, and the Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office have assisted Hanahan police with its investigation.
