MONCKS CORNERS, S.C. – American Red Cross volunteers are helping a Moncks Corner family after a fire damaged their home Wednesday morning.
The two-story house is located on Gray Dogwood Drive in Moncks Corner. Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene around 5:30 a.m., including East Berkeley Fire District, Moncks Corner, Moncks Corner Rural, and Central Berkeley.
Firefighters said the fire was brought under control quickly. There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
A Red Cross spokesperson said the nonprofit is helping the five people who lived inside the house by providing financial assistance for immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, along with referrals to much-needed resources.
