Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Truck Near Goose Creek On Christmas

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A pedestrian has died following a collision with a truck near Goose Creek on Christmas, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Lance Corporal Brittany Glover said the fatal crash happened on Howe Hall Road at Addison Drive in Berkeley County.

Glover said before the collision, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup was disabled in a ditch on Howe Hall Road. Two pedestrians were standing on the right edge of the roadway of Howe Hall Road when the pickup then struck them.

One of the pedestrians died. The condition of the other pedestrian is unknown.

It’s unclear why the Chevy truck was in a ditch and what ultimately led up to the collision.

“This is all the information that I have at this time,” Glover said.

The crash remains under investigation. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the vicitm.
