HANAHAN, S.C. – The Hanahan community is rallying behind a family of four facing challenging times once again. This time, neighbors are coming to their assistance after a fire destroyed their home, leaving them with nothing.
The fire happened Sunday night on Rembert Drive, according to the Red Cross. The Reilly family escaped without any injuries.
“Everyone is safe and being taken care of at the moment. Meghan, Bobby and the kids have lost everything,” posted family friend, Kelly Neary, to GoFundMe.

Neary launched an online fundraiser on the platform for the family following the fire with the goal of raising $20,000. In just three days, people have donated nearly $5,400 to help the family.
“Medical debt and treatments and doctor appointments are still a battle for Bobby and Meg take on together, but the complete loss of their family home is obviously financially devastating,” Neary said.
“Please donate to help them get back up on their feet as quickly as possible. Lift them up with well wishes and prayers. Let’s show her how strong our Army still is!!” she continued.
Red Cross volunteers said they are also helping the Reilly family with financial assistance for immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, along with referrals to much-needed resources.
