BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A repeat drug offender is facing new charges following a recent traffic stop in Berkeley County. Berkeley County deputies recently arrested Albert Ray Boshard Jr., 54, for trafficking cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a scheduled narcotic with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of Schedule IV narcotics with the intent to distribute.

Recently, a deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 52 and Highway 402 in the Moncks Corner area of Berkeley County. The deputy observed a truck with an inoperable taillight and an unreadable license plate.

The deputy also noticed the driver made an illegal lane change. As a result, the deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver who was identified as Boshard.

Deputies noticed some indicators that Boshard had been drinking and asked him out of the vehicle. Deputies asked Boshard if he had been drinking and he stated he had one beer earlier. Deputies then asked Boshard for consent to search him and Boshard agreed.

While deputies began searching Boshard, they immediately located a plastic bag in his pants pocket. Inside of the plastic bag were several smaller bags with a white, powder substance and four small pink pills. Boshard told deputies the white powder was cocaine and he had so much because he was on the way to a party at a friend’s house. Deputies located a total of 11 individually packaged portions of cocaine in the bag. When deputies searched Boshard’s left pocket, they found a Ziplock bag that had 25 white pills. Boshard told deputies they were Lortab.

Deputies then searched Boshard’s vehicle and located the following:

  • a large bag of marijuana
  • a bag containing dried psilocybin mushrooms
  • a container with 60 Adderall pills and 2 Clonazepam pills
  • another bag of cocaine
  • a small baggie containing a clear crystal-like substance appearing to be Methamphetamine
  • a bottle of Viagra containing 21 pills
  • a bag containing 126 individually packaged Suboxone sublingual strips
  • a bag of assorted gold jewelry
  • two electronic smoking pipes
  • one digital scale
  • one large vial of Ketamine
  • several different THC infused products.

This included five unopened boxes of “Springfield Farms” rechargeable THC vape bars (each box containing 10 vape bars), 143 unused THC vape pen cartridges, 29 small containers each containing THC “wax” used for smoking/vaping, and 49 individually packaged THC infused lollipops, deputies said.

In total, deputies said Boshard had in his possession twelve individually packaged portions of cocaine, which had a combined weight of 16.7 grams. Boshard also had $961.00 in cash

Boshard was arrested and booked inside the Hill Finklea Detention Center.

Deputies have previously arrested Boshard in Berkeley County for narcotic-related charges and failure to stop for blue lights. Boshard has also been arrested in Charleston for a slew of narcotic-related charges.
