GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – A Lowcountry developer has unveiled conceptual plans for a 3-acre, mixed-use development in the heart of Goose Creek.
The plan calls for 111 rental units comprised of large 1-2 bedroom and studio apartments as well as a 1,800 square-foot lobby cafe with floor-to-ceiling windows. A rooftop penthouse will include a meeting space and a deck to view state-of-the-art performances at the city’s future amphitheater, according to Jeffrey Roberts, managing director for JJR Development.
The district, which represents Phase 1 of the project, will sit next to the city’s municipal complex, recreation center, and future amphitheater off Hwy. 52.

“The location is unparalleled, and our goal was to design something that has never been done before in the area,” Roberts posted to LinkedIn.
“Our objective was to create a ‘contemporary object’ of four stories on an arterial roadway with a setback penthouse, clad in vertically-seamed metal, with an elegant, taller brick base, with the building massing broken up by a ‘modified V shape,’ articulated, and fully fenestrated,” he continued.
The developer has been working closely on the project with the City of Goose Creek’s Economic Development team. Roberts said the city has been very welcoming to “good growth” in the area.
Currently, Roberts said the design plans are still in “refinement.” However, when complete, he said the planned development should create a go-to destination in Goose Creek for work-live-shopping-play.
