Election Day Poll Workers Needed in Berkeley County

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County government is currently seeking additional poll workers for the Nov. 5 General Election.

“Would you like to serve your community in a unique way by helping with the election process? By signing up as a Berkeley County poll worker, you could do just that AND earn sizable compensation!” read a post on the county’s official Facebook page.

County officials said advanced training will be provided. Poll workers play an important role in conducting fair and impartial elections.

According to the South Carolina Election Commission, poll managers and poll manager’s assistants can earn $60 for attending training plus $75 for working on election day for a total of $135. Lead poll managers (clerks) can earn up to $195 total. Some counties may also supplement poll manager pay.
