PINEVILLE, S.C. – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened in Pineville on Wednesday night.
According to Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, the fatal crash took place just before 8 p.m. on Thomas Walters Road near Timberline Way.
Ridgeway said the motorcyclist was driving east on Thomas Walters Road when he veered off the roadway to the right and crashed.
No other vehicles were involved. It’s not clear if the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Joe Britton, 64, from Pineville.
Coroner Darnell Hartwell said Britton was operating a 2013 Kawasaki Vulcan Motorcycle that left the right side of the roadway.
Berkeley County EMS, Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office, North Berkeley Fire & Rescue also responded to this incident.
