2 Huger Men Charged With Hwy. 41 Carjacking

HUGER, S.C. – Two Huger men accused of carjacking a woman on Hwy. 41 over the weekend are in jail.

Deputies arrested Clyde Jaheim Davis, 18, and Matataiest Chavez Johnson, 18. They both have been charged with carjacking.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday at approximately 11 p.m., Berkeley County dispatch received a 911 call in reference to theft.

The victim said she was hiding in the woods after she was carjacked at gunpoint, BCSO said.

Deputies responded to the scene and located the victim on the side of the road on Hwy. 41.

The victim told deputies she was held at gunpoint and her vehicle was stolen. The victim was able to direct deputies to the area where she was before the crime occurred.

Assisting deputies responded to a residence on Highpoint Circle and located the victim’s vehicle nearby.

Davis and Johnson were booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
