Ceremony in Moncks Corner To Remember Pets That ‘Crossed The Rainbow Bridge’

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The Friends of Berkeley County Animal Center will soon host a unique ceremony that honors the memory of beloved Lowcountry pets that have “crossed over the rainbow bridge” to heaven.

The Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day Luminary Walk will take place Sept. 7 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Berkeley County Animal Center, which is at 131 Central Avenue in Moncks Corner.

Participants can purchase a $5 luminary bag at this link in honor of their fur-baby. The money raised from the event will help support the animal center.

Attendance at the upcoming event is welcomed but not required, organizers said.

According to Guinness World Records, the oldest living dog is currently 24 years old. That honor goes to a little Chihuahua named Spike in Camden, Ohio.
