Berkeley County’s Role in the American Revolution Highlighted at ‘Colonial Day’

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center, Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust, and Old Santee Canal Park are excited to host the 3rd Annual “Colonial Day ” on Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Old Santee Canal Park (900 Stony Landing Rd., Moncks Corner).

This unique event will offer a deep dive into Berkeley County’s rich Revolutionary War history, bringing the past to life through engaging activities and exhibits.

Event Highlights:

  • Guided tours of the historic Fort Fair Lawn
  • Live Revolutionary War artillery demonstrations
  • Educational history lectures
  • Indigo dyeing demonstrations
  • Traditional Colonial music performances
  • Local vendors and historical organizations showcasing period artifacts and crafts
  • A native birds and plants nature walk
  • Delicious food truck offerings

Admission:

  • $10 for adults; children six and under are free.
  • As this is a special event, annual park passes and museum passes do not apply.
