BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced the arrests of five individuals who have been arrested in connection to several thefts of property with a value of over $75,000. All five individuals were booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
There are two suspects that have outstanding warrants in connection to this case. For the past two weeks, detectives with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office have been working a string of burglaries from businesses around the South Live Oak Drive area in Berkeley County.
During the investigation, detectives conducted approximately 13 search warrants on various locations throughout Charleston County, Berkeley County and Dorchester County. To date, detectives have obtained 48 felony charges on the suspects that are connection to the thefts.
“Our detectives have worked day and night with our neighboring agencies to recover stolen property to return to victims and also to place the offenders in jail.” Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis stated. “We are still actively looking into this case, and we are asking anyone with information to please come forward so we can continue to recover evidence.”
“This case is an example of how agencies can work together to reach one common goal.” Lieutenant Michael Buenting stated. “Offenders often think they can pass stolen property off across a county line and be safe. That is not the case. We will utilize all resources to be sure we recover stolen items to the owners and place the offender behind bars.”
The following suspects were arrested in connection with the case: Clifton O’Neal Walsh, 39, of Alexander Circle in Summerville. Walsh is charged with Burglary 2nd degree and two counts of Grand Larceny Value $10,000 or more. Shelby Ann Pyatt, 32, of Forest Circle in Summerville. Pyatt is charged with two counts of Burglary 2nd degree. Michael Alan White, 39, of Erskine Street in Ladson. White is charged with Receiving Stolen Goods. Iain Douglas Carder, 26, of Pine Trail Road in Summerville. Carder is currently in Hill-Finklea on 19 charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor and he has theft related charges pending. Brandon Dale Taylor, 22, of Roumillats Lane in Moncks Corner. Taylor is charged with Burglary 2nd degree and two counts of Grand Larceny Value $10,000 or more.
The following suspects are currently WANTED in connection with the case: David Alan Briggs, 56, of Dream Street in Summerville. Briggs is wanted on two charges of Receiving Stolen Goods. Diana Catherine Beylotte, 41, of Brain Road in Charleston. Beylotte is wanted on two charges of Receiving Stolen Goods.
