MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Moncks Corner officials announced Wednesday the resignation of their police chief Stephen G. Young.
Young joined the town in 2018 as a lieutenant and rose through the ranks until he was appointed the chief in Feb. 2023. The longtime officer said he is thankful for his time with the police department.
“I will be forever grateful that I was afforded the opportunity to serve the Moncks Corner community as its Chief of Police and lead such a talented group of people in the department. The support I’ve experienced from the men and women of the agency, the community, the Mayor and Council, and the Town staff has been amazing, and this is why our agency has experienced so much success,” Young said in a statement.
