Motorcyclist Killed After Running Off Road, Striking Several Trees

ambulance BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, On May 29th at 2 a.m. Alexander Lomazzo, 39, of Moncks Corner was riding his motorcycle north on highway 17-A and ran off the left side of the roadway.

Salisbury stated that he struck several trees and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The accident happened between Moncks Corner and Jamestown near Mail Route Road.

The coroner says his death has been ruled accidental and that Lomazzo died of head trauma.

Salisbury stated that Lomazzo was not wearing a helmet.

No other vehicles were involved and  the accident is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
