Hanahan Man One Of Two People Killed On Highway 61 In Dorchester County

ambulance DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C.—According to Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet, 57-year-old Kenneth Stanley of Hanahan was one of two people killed Wednesday evening in a head on collision near Middleton Plantation.

Nisbet says Stanley was traveling north on Highway 61 when he crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head on.

Nisbet says the driver in the separate vehicle including Stanley both died on scene.

“The driver’s name that died on scene in the other vehicle will be released as soon as his family is notified,” stated Nisbet.

The coroner added the other two people in the second vehicle are listed in stable condition.

It’s not know if the occupants in the two vehicles were wearing seatbelts.

The case remains under investigation by S.C. Highway Patrol.

Witnesses said the vehicles involved were heavily damaged and were located near the woods following the collision.
