BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The severe rainfall which has resulted in historic flooding throughout the Lowcountry has closed Cypress Gardens until further notice.
While many people hate to see one of the area’s most popular attractions closed, they say they certainly understand.
“So sad. My daughter and son-in-law volunteer there,” stated Lorie Beercheck. “I’ve been lucky enough to visit twice. It is a beautiful place and I hope that you get back to normal real soon.”
“I hate to see this!” stated Debbie Morey Hopkins. “I’m so sorry!”
Cypress Gardens has been a preferred group and family destination since 1931. Visitors from all over the country come to experience this unique and exciting attraction, which has been highlighted in numerous national magazines.
The park features boat rides on a black water swamp amidst blooming azaleas, camellias and other flowers featured in the gardens, 3.5 miles of walking trails, butterfly house, aquarium and the new Heritage Room.
Cypress Gardens has also hosted over 16 major movies including The Patriot, Cold Mountain and The Notebook, along with the television mini-series North and South.
