BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–On Friday, Nov. 27th the Coroner’s Office was notified that a hunter found a skull near the Cainhoy Elementary School on Cainhoy Road, according to Coroner Bill Salisbury.
Salisbury stated that the skull was in a wooded area about 100 yards behind the school and it appears to have been there for some time.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Berkeley County Sheriff Office searched the area and also found a small bone.
“We will continue to search the area for more remains with cadaver dogs,” stated Salisbury.
The skull will be sent to SLED for DNA testing for identification.
