GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–City of Goose Creek trash collection will resume Monday, Oct. 10, and will operate on the normal Monday-Friday schedule.
The following information applies to storm debris:
Due to the large volume of debris, crews will collect yard debris (brown) roll-carts and yard debris (paper) bags first. The city will attempt to complete collection of yard debris roll-carts and yard debris bags on the customer’s regular collection day. However, due to the anticipated volume of debris, collection may take longer. Customers should leave these at the curb and crews will collect them by the end of the week.
All storm debris does not have to be bagged or placed in roll-carts. Leaves, straw, grass and other small debris should be placed in yard debris bags and yard debris roll-carts to make collection easier and cleaner. Limbs and other tree debris should be placed in piles separated from other debris and away from fire hydrants, storm drains, ground-level electrical boxes, phone and cable TV pedestals, and water meter boxes.
Do not place debris piles in ditches or on sidewalks. Do not place debris piles in the roadway. Do not commingle different types of debris. Crews will not rake the curbside or sweep the roadside where debris has been placed and collected. This clean-up will be the responsibility of the resident.
Debris piles will be collected as soon as possible, but collection my take several days.
