BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Board of Elections and Voter Registration is in need of poll managers for the 2014 primary elections in June.
The poll managers will work in Daniel Island, Goose Creek, Hanahan , as well as other available locations in Berkeley County on election day, which is Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
Duties include processing voters, ballot distribution, activating voting machines, voter assistance, and compliance with election law and procedures.
Poll managers will be paid $60 for training and $60 for working on election day as well as an additional $25 provided by Berkeley County, for a total of $145 for each election they work. Applicants must be registered to vote in Berkeley, Charleston, Clarendon, Dorchester, Georgetown, Orangeburg or Williamsburg Counties.
Students ages 16 and 17 may also apply despite not being registered voters. Those who apply must also be able to attend a 2-3 hour Poll Manager Trainer Session and pass a written certification test, and work from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. or later on election day.
