GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–According to Goose Creek Police Department, one person has been charged in connection with the fatal crash that killed Kyle Wayne Seagraves, 22, of Goose Creek.
“Anna Schafer has been charged with Failure to Yield Right of Way which will be tried in Goose Creek Municipal Court,” stated Major John Grainger.
The accident occurred near Granny’s Laundromat and Sonics on Saturday around 7:30 p.m.
According to two witnesses, a Ford Mustang driven by Schafer turned left onto US Highway 176 and struck Seagraves’ motorcycle as it was traveling eastbound on US Highway 176 towards US Highway 52.
They told police that they then observed the motorcycle travel across several lanes of traffic as Seagraves attempted to correct its direction of travel.
The couple told people that the motorcycle continued on the westbound lanes of traffic where it was struck by a second vehicle head on by a Chevy Tahoe.
Seagraves was pronounced dead at the scene by Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.
“The investigation determined that Mr. Seagraves was not wearing a helmet,” added Grainger. “Investigators do not suspect alcohol involvement nor speed (as a violation of law) as factors in this collision.”
