HANAHAN, S.C.–The City of Hanahan will hold a public hearing concerning an application to be submitted to South Carolina Department of Commerce, Grants Administration on or about September 17, 2018, for a Community Development Block Grant.
The City of Hanahan is requesting $500,000 to carry out the following activities.
These activities, located in the Charleston Farms Neighborhood, include the installation of sidewalks along Corner Avenue and Carolyn Street, the demolition of three structures in the project area and the installation of gateway signage at the corner of Pilgrim Street and Berkeley Street. Funding for all of the activities is provided by CDBG funds for a total of $500,000. The City of Hanahan will provide a 10 percent match or $50,000 for engineering services for the project. The estimated number of beneficiaries for this project are 1,185.
This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the City of Hanahan’s Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of the City of Hanahan in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds.
