Deputies: Man Leads Deputies on High-Speed Chase after Stealing $15K+ in Merchandise

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Deputies say a man stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a Berkeley County business and led officers on a high-speed chase into the next county over.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were patrolling the area of Old Highway 52 after a burglary to a commercial business presently under construction.

Between $15,000 – $20,000 worth of merchandise was stolen.

While searching for the suspect, deputies say they located the vehicle that was described. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver did not stop.

The vehicle pursuit ended up in North Charleston in the area of Osprey Street and Falcon Road.

The driver, 43-year-old Charles Aaron Beaudrot, bailed on foot. Beaudrot was eventually located and arrested by deputies.

He was arrested for grand larceny with other charges pending.

This is not his first encounter with law enforcement.

“It seems one of our frequent flyers missed us!” joked BCSO via social media.

Beaudrot was also arrested back on December 20, 2018, and April 3, 2018.

On  April 3, 2018, Berkeley County Sheriff’s detective’s responded to Weeks Avenue in unincorporated Goose Creek to assist Hanahan Police Department detectives with search warrants for stolen property regarding a burglary of Bowen’s Corner Elementary School.
