HANAHAN, S.C. – On Dec. 11, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in the Debbie Lewis Municipal Chambers (1255 Yeamans Hall Rd., Hanahan, SC 29410), the City of Hanahan will hold a public hearing to solicit public input on the City’s application to apply for CDBG funds from Berkeley County, now an “Entitlement” community.
Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) are funds that Berkeley County receives from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
They are typically used to help improve communities through activities such as improving infrastructure (installing sidewalks, streetscapes, water, sewer), demolition to address slum/blight and various other activities.
At this public hearing, the City of Hanahan will discuss the application that it has prepared and will submit to the county for review.
If the city is awarded funds, the funds will be issued in early July 2020.
Persons with questions or comments concerning the public hearing or application may contact Jeff Hajek, Planner/Economic Development Director, 1255 Yeamans Hall Rd, Building and Codes, Hanahan, SC 29410, (843) 885-5045 or [email protected]
