CROSS, S.C. – Two men have died following two separate vehicle crashes over the weekend, according to Berkeley County Coroner George Oliver.
Lester Whitten, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene on Nov. 29. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office was notified at 8:20 a.m.
Oliver said the victim was traveling east on Hwy. 6 when his vehicle left the roadway. The victim was not wearing a seat belt.
A second collision on I-26 near MM197 eastbound, resulted in the death of Aleene Carroll, 89, of Charleston.
The collision involved the victim’s vehicle and an 18 wheeler. The victim was wearing a seat belt. The Berkeley County Coroner’s received the call at 11:04 a.m. on Nov. 29.
