Berkeley County Coroner ID’s 9-Year-Old Car Crash Victim

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a child recently killed in a car crash.

According to Coroner George Oliver, on Aug. 17, 2021, at approximately 9 p.m., Silas Wicht, 9, of Summerville, died in a single car collision from blunt force trauma.

“The accident happened near 1165 College Park Rd. in Summerville,” he said in a news release.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash occurred after a 2008 Dodge Charger drove off the road and struck a utility pole. 

SCHP and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.
