Open Letter from Moncks Corner Mayor Bill Peagler:
I would like to update everyone regarding the status of the Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Complex.
As many of you know, we started construction of the Rec Complex nearly six years ago. Town Council has been very supportive of this effort and the Town Staff has worked to implement our goals. The Concession Stand should be completed in July, the irrigation system should be finished this week and we will be planting celebration grass sprigs in June at exactly the best time.
Unusually wet weather in 2013 delayed construction progress as did our harsh winter. I am very delighted at the progress we are making in recent months. Our contractors tell me that additional construction progress will be very noticeable at the end of June.
We will have an open house soon after the contractors leave the site. I look forward to seeing the smile on children’s faces when they see the complex for the first time and dream of hitting a home run.
Sincerely,
William W. Peagler, III
