BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A tornado watch is in effect for Berkeley County until 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
This alert means that tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area.
A strong line of thunderstorms is expected to move across the area this afternoon. This line of storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and possibly even an isolated tornado, The National Weather Service reports.

The primary time period for severe thunderstorms is from noon to 8 pm.
