Three men now linked to fatal St. Stephen shooting

Just one day prior to Wigfall’s arrest, officers arrested Michael Segar, 19, and charged him with misprision of a felony. In bond court Thursday, a judge gave the teen a PR bond of $40,000.

Jamal Harris-Nelson, 21, was the first person arrested in the St. Stephen shooting that occurred on Tuesday at a trailer park on Graham Street in St. Stephen. He has been charged with murder seven days after the crime. A judge denied Harris-Nelson bond on Tuesday.

St. Stephen Police initially responded to the shooting, and the Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Office was called into assist.

Once on scene, officers found the victim, John Morant of New York, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

Investigators say Morant refused to tell them details about the incident and died on the way to the hospital.

St. Stephen Police, the Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Office and the Berkeley Co. Coroner’s Office are all investigating the case.
