MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — With serious crashes occurring on local roads roughly once a month, Moncks Corner officials are urging residents to help shape the town’s next steps toward safer streets.

The town will host a public workshop on Wednesday, April 22, inviting the community to review proposed roadway safety projects and offer feedback as part of its developing Safety Action Plan.

The drop‑in event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at Moncks Corner Town Hall, 118 Carolina Avenue.

Town leaders say the workshop is designed to give residents a direct role in identifying problem areas, evaluating potential improvements, and helping guide long‑term strategies to reduce crashes.

Officials say the Safety Action Plan will outline targeted recommendations aimed at improving intersections, pedestrian access, and overall roadway design. Community input, they note, is a key part of the process.

Residents are encouraged to stop by at any time during the three‑hour session, whether to review materials, speak with staff, or share concerns about specific roads and intersections.

Town leaders say the goal is straightforward: create safer, more accessible streets for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians across Moncks Corner.
