berkeley chamberBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce 2015 Board of Directors under the leadership of President, Giff Daughtridge, is partnering with Market Street Services, a national community and economic development consulting firm, to launch a Community and Economic Development Strategy process.

“Now is the time for Berkeley County community leaders to proceed with a strategic plan to help it progress into a holistic area to live, work, and grow,” Daughtridge stated.

The first phase, which now is released on the Chamber’s website, provides a detailed examination of Berkeley County’s competitiveness as a place to live, work, visit, and do business. The Assessment provides a clear analysis of both advantages and challenges that the county faces on a day-to-day basis.

Market Street will analyze indicators to assess the community’s competitiveness across a wide variety of areas. The Assessment answers key questions about the county’s people, its quality of place, and its economic structure in the context of issues that affect long-term prosperity for businesses and residents.

“We believe that we need to have a clear understanding of Berkeley County and this initial information is critical to the overall goal of having a clear vision and plan for Berkeley County, SC” said Elaine Morgan, CEO of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce.
