BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–North Charleston Police arrested a Hanahan man Sunday for allegedly injuring and assaulting a woman and her young son.
According to an incident report, officers found a 20-year-old man walking down Hilt Street suffering from what what appeared to be a stab wound to his chest.
The young many reportedly told officers that he was sitting at home when his mother told him she had gotten into a fight with 39-year-old Ronald Michael Pye.
Police stated that Pye grabbed the woman by her hair and held her to a fire that was burning in the backyard. The woman sustained minor burns to hands and arms.
The woman’s son told officer that he then confronted Pye who then stabbed him before fleeing the scene. Cops eventually found Pye hiding in his Stonehenge Drive apartment.
Both the woman and her son were taken to MUSC for their injuries.
Pye is charged with attempted murder, possession of a knife during the commission of a violent crime, and assault in the second degree.
He was given a $100,000 bond for the two lesser charges. Because attempted murder is a general sessions charge, the magistrate judge did not set bond on it.
