UPDATE FROM CORONER: The body found Saturday in Lake Marion has been identified as 74-year-old Jerome [Jerry) Ferneding of Berkeley County. He was reported overdue from a fishing trip Friday. BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Emergency crews are actively looking for a boater who went missing Friday. Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Units are canvassing the area near the Canal Lakes Resort in Cross in hopes of finding 74-year-old Jerry Ferneding. Ferneding resides in Pinopolis.
