HANAHAN, S.C.–Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury has officially ruled the recent death of a Hanahan woman as a homicide. According to an autopsy performed Thursday at MUSC, Melanie Rivera, 39, died from asphyxiation due to manual strangulation.
