Deputies, rescue squad search for missing woman

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Chief Bill Salisbury, the Berkeley County Rescue Squad and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office began a search for a missing 52-year-old Wando woman Sunday.  dog search

Salisbury says Laura Lynch was last seen Thursday after she was in a vehicle involved in a chase from Mt Pleasant that ended Berkeley County.  An investigation, he says, later found that she ran from the car after it wrecked on Green bay Road in the Huger area.

A search of the area Thursday using dogs did not locate the driver or the passenger of the vehicle.  Salisbury says the driver was taken into custody Sunday morning and information received from him lead authorities back to the area of the wreck.

Sunday crews searched the wooded area on foot and on horseback.

“We will continue the search Monday using a helicopter, and search dogs,” Salisbury stated.

If you have any information on her whereabouts, please contact the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
