Passenger Dies 4 Days After Moncks Corner Crash

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a two-car collision happened Tuesday, May 1, on Hwy. 17A near Horseshoe Road.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A person recently injured in a car crash that occurred several days ago in Moncks Corner has died.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a two-car collision happened Tuesday, May 1, on Hwy. 17A near Horseshoe Road.

Approximately at 3 p.m., the driver of a 2007 Honda sedan traveled north on Hwy. 17A as the driver and passenger of a Toyota Camry headed south. As the Camry attempted to turn left into a driveway, the other car struck it, according to Trooper William Bennett.

Bennett said the driver of the Honda sedan was not injured in the crash. However, the driver and passenger of the Toyota Camry were transported to Trident Hospital.

The passenger died four days later from injuries sustained in the crash, the trooper confirmed.

At this time, the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the passenger killed in the crash. The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
