MONCKS CORNER, SC – Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis is scheduled to swear in Lieutenant Will Rogers at the beginning of the September 14th Berkeley County Council meeting.

When a new sheriff takes office, each deputy in the department must take the oath from the new sheriff.

With Lieutenant Rogers in the hospital and recovery since Sheriff Lewis took office, Lieutenant Rogers has yet to take the oath from Sheriff Lewis.

“I am very humbled and honored to lead an incredible group of deputies in the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office,” said Lewis. “And, I am particularly grateful that Lieutenant Rogers is in that number. I am honored to be able to administer the oath to Lieutenant Rogers. Lieutenant Rogers has honorably served our community for a long time and continues to inspire our department.”

Sheriff Lewis will administer the oath to Lieutenant Rogers at the beginning of the County Council meeting on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 6:30 PM.

The Berkeley County Council meetings are open to the public and are held in the Berkeley County Administrative Building located at 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner.
