BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Howe Hall Road in Goose Creek on Tuesday morning that eventually led to the arrest of one person and the search for another.

Deputies say they pulled the car over due to a missing bumper.

During the traffic stop, the officer stated that he smelled a strong odor of weed and asked the two suspects inside the vehicle to step out of the car.

The driver got out of the car and attempted to take off, deputies stated. That’s when authorities say the deputy tased the suspect, a teenager.

Although one person is now in custody, another person managed to flee the scene after drugs were found inside the vehicle.

Authorities believe the second suspect may be armed.

Officials say more than 30 grams of marijuana and a scale was recovered from t vehicle.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter and called in a K9 unit.
