MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Two people are facing charges after using a counterfeit bill to pay for a meal at a Moncks Corner restaurant.
Chief Rick Ollic with the Moncks Corner Police Department says officers responded to a local restaurant located on Highway 52 in the early morning hours of Wednesday August 30, 2017 for a counterfeit bill tendered for payment for a meal. The server was able to describe a white male and white female who left the area on a motorcycle.
Officers located the motorcycle at a local motel parking lot. The motorcycle was determined to be stolen out of the Surfside Beach area. The white male was the driver of the vehicle, and the female was a passenger.
Through reviewing available video surveillance officers were able to determine that both the male (Identified as Bryan Chapman Lambert of Andrews, South Carolina) and the white female (Identified as Kayla Shan Nichols of Surfside Beach, South Carolina) were complacent in passing the counterfeit bill.
During the investigation, Lambert and Nichols were linked to several counterfeit bills passed at other businesses. Both were determined to be in a room at the motel. A search warrant was obtained and executed with the assistance of the Secret Service.
Recovered in the search of the room was a large amount of counterfeit bills of several denominations, a printer, computer, and chemicals commonly associated with the manufacturing of counterfeit money. The Secret Service will be assisting in
