MONCKS CORNER, S.C.—This week Berkeley Ford employees and Moncks Corner town leaders broke ground on the dealership’s soon-to-be new location.
“We are very excited about this project as it’s been in the works for well over a year,” stated Louie Abidi, the dealership’s owner. “As you can imagine, it’s amazing to see it go from concept to actual construction as we have begun to clear the land and prepare the foundation.”
Berkeley Ford will eventually move from its long-time location at 1511 U.S. Highway 52. The car dealership won’t be moving far, though. The new location will be situated just a few miles from its old location. Abidi says the dealership has simply outgrown its current location.
“We need to expand and upgrade to meet the needs of our customers in both sales and service for Berkeley County and the surrounding Charleston area,” stated Louie Abidi, the dealership’s owner. “Our goal is to improve the customer experience by making our customers more comfortable and at ease while visiting Berkeley Ford.”
The state-of-the-art Ford dealership will be over 33,000 square feet on a 10+ acre parcel of land, says Abidi.
“Everything is larger than what we have at our current location – more parking, much larger showroom and parts and service departments, air conditioned service shop, beautifully appointed customer lounge, etc,” he stated.
Abidi says he hopes to be up and running at the new location by September 2019, weather permitting.
