Beach Access Begins June 29
When the beach opens, visitors will also have access to the park’s boat ramps, trailer parking areas and public restroom facilities.
However, county officials said all other portions of the park will remain closed while construction continues on additional amenities and infrastructure.
The limited opening allows residents to begin using some of the park’s most anticipated features while crews complete work elsewhere on the property.
Cost and Hours
Admission to Lions Beach will cost $5 per person for visitors ages 4 and older.
The beach will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
County officials said lifeguards will be stationed at the beach during operating hours to help ensure visitor safety.

Part of a Larger Waterfront Vision
The beach opening marks another milestone for Berkeley County Waterfront Park, one of the county’s largest recreation investments in recent years.
Situated along the shores of Lake Moultrie, the park is expected to become a regional destination for boating, fishing, swimming and outdoor recreation.
The county previously opened the park’s boat ramps earlier this year, providing public access to one of South Carolina’s most popular lakes.
While visitors will need to wait a little longer for the full park experience, the opening of Lions Beach gives residents an opportunity to enjoy a portion of the long-awaited waterfront development just in time for the height of the summer season.
