The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of eight persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, March 6, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, March 8, at midnight.
In Berkeley County, four people have died while on the road.

As of March 8, 147 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 141 highway deaths during the same time period in 2014.
Of the 108 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2015, 59 were not wearing seat belts.
Through midnight March 8, 22 pedestrians have died compared to 16 in 2014; 11 motorcyclists have died compared to 10 in 2014; and 1 bicyclist has died compared to 3 in 2014 on state roads and highways.
