Obituary For William Joseph Antwine, Jr.
William Joseph Antwine, Jr. (Known as “Billy Jack”), 66, of North Charleston, S.C., passed away at the Medical University of South Carolina on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
He was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 21, 1956. He is survived by his two daughters, Billie Jo Antwine and Teela Marie Loponte (Antwine) and son, Steve Knight; three granddaughters: Hallie Karmen Smoak, Karmyn Faith Litchfield, Haleigh Knight and two grandsons: Wesley Knight and Dominick James Loponte; his sister, Janet Marie Hawkins (Antwine); and his brother, Johnny Antwine.
He also leaves behind several nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Antwine, Sr.; mother, Olita Feagin (Antwine); and wife, Marina Ann Antwine (Mazzone).
He loved being around his family, especially his grands. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling.
He was a long-haul truck driver for many years, but an injury ultimately ended his career.
He had a natural talent for music. He enjoyed singing and getting together with family at cookouts and reunions to sing and tell stories from their past.
He will be deeply and truly missed by his loved ones. Until we meet again!
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Billy Jack's life Saturday, June 24 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Goose Creek (141 St. James Avenue). Following the service, loved ones may arrive at Folly Beach Pier where his ashes will be spread into the ocean.
