Payeur now faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, distribution of methamphetamine, criminal conspiracy, and assault and battery 3rd degree, police said.

Search Warrant and Arrest

Officers executed the warrant around 1:50 a.m. in room 308 of the Economy Inn. According to the incident report, investigators found a vial containing a clear liquid suspected to be DMT, a fake book safe with a crystal‑like substance presumptive for methamphetamine, and several electronic devices including a laptop and tablets.

Detectives also located a female victim who told officers she had been held against her will inside the room.

She alleged that Payeur had attempted to coerce her into prostitution and had prevented her from leaving by locking the door and instructing her to stay on the bed.

Officers ultimately used a ram to breach the door after the hotel’s keycard failed to open it.

Statements and Evidence

The report states that Payeur admitted to selling methamphetamine and described his supplier as a man operating out of North Charleston. Officers documented evidence of drug paraphernalia and communications related to narcotics transactions.

The victim provided a written statement to detectives and was transported to a different hotel. A victims’ advocate was notified, according to the report.

Police say the investigation remains active. Payeur was booked into the Berkeley County Detention Center in Moncks Corner, where he awaits a bond hearing.
