MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — The holiday lights may have gone dark months ago, but one of Moncks Corner’s most beloved Christmas traditions continues to make an impact.
Santee Cooper announced this week that its 2025 Celebrate The Season Holiday Lights Driving Tour and festival raised $100,000 for local charities, bringing the event’s total charitable contributions to more than $1.4 million over the past 15 years.

The annual holiday attraction, held each winter in Moncks Corner, draws thousands of visitors and relies on support from Santee Cooper, Berkeley Electric Cooperative, dozens of sponsors and volunteers.
“Celebrate The Season keeps giving long after the holidays are over,” Santee Cooper President and CEO Jimmy Staton said in a statement. “The funds we raised last year will deliver meaningful, ongoing help to the local charities that support our neighbors who need it most.”
Among the largest local recipients was the Town of Moncks Corner’s Miracle Field Project, which received $13,453.50 to help support the accessible baseball field designed for children and adults with disabilities.
Other organizations receiving funding include:
- Trident United Way — $33,633.76
- Coastal Community Foundation — $13,453.50
- Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center — $6,726.75
- Home Community Fund — $6,784.57
- Lowcountry Orphan Relief — $6,784.57
- Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center — $6,784.57
- Quixote Foundation — $6,784.57
- Water Mission — $6,784.57
With the 2025 event now complete, organizers are already turning their attention to this year’s holiday season by launching a “Christmas in July” campaign to recruit additional sponsors.
Santee Cooper said 46 sponsors have already committed to the 2026 event, but officials are encouraging more local businesses, organizations and community leaders to participate. Organizers say sponsorships are essential to expanding the event and increasing the amount donated to local charities each year.
