BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Board of Voter Registration and Election of Berkeley County, in conjunction with the South Carolina State Election Commission, will be joining Americans across the nation to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday.
National Voter Registration Day is a nationwide effort to register voters before upcoming November elections in that year.
Berkeley County Election and Voter Registration Director Adam Hammons encourages residents to participate.
“Tomorrow is a great way to truly celebrate democracy in America by encouraging individuals to exercise one of our most basic rights – the right to vote,” said Hammons. “Berkeley County and the State Election Commission encourages all South Carolinians to exercise that right in all elections, including the more than 150 elections being held throughout the state on November 3rd. The first step to doing that is registering to vote.”
