MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis confirm they’ve arrested the suspected wanted for an armed robbery at the Dollar General on Red Bank Road on Friday morning.

The incident put several nearby schools, including Goose Creek High, on lockdown.

Authorities say the suspect is under 18-years-old and a firearm was recovered during the teen’s arrest.

Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Dollar General Store located at 1326 Red Bank Road in unincorporated Goose Creek shortly around 10:15 a.m.

Deputies say the suspect walked into the store and picked up a hoodie with a solid-gray top and green and gray horizontal stripes, a blue and black flannel shirt and a blue bandanna. The subject then walked up to the register and handed the items to the cashier.

After paying the cashier for his purchase, the suspect displayed a firearm and grabbed cash from the drawer.

After taking an unknown amount of money from the register, the suspect fled on foot from the store. Fortunately, there were no injuries during the incident.
