GOOSE CREEK, S.C. — A new multi-purpose community gathering space being built adjacent to Goose Creek City Hall is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, according to city officials.
The facility, known as The Assembly at Goose Creek, is designed to serve as both a community event venue and the future home of Goose Creek City Council meetings, creating what city leaders describe as a flexible space capable of hosting a wide variety of public and private events.
City officials recently provided residents with an update on the project, which is currently under construction next to City Hall on Highway 52.

“When completed, The Assembly will provide a beautiful venue for weddings, banquets, family reunions, community celebrations, nonprofit events, and other special occasions,” the city said in a recent social media post.
The facility is scheduled for completion in December 2026.
Designed for a Growing Community
City leaders say the project is intended to address the needs of one of South Carolina’s fastest-growing municipalities by creating additional space for residents to gather and celebrate important milestones.
In addition to hosting private events, The Assembly will become the permanent location for City Council meetings, replacing the current council chambers inside City Hall.
Officials say the facility is being designed as a long-term investment that will serve future generations of residents.
“As Goose Creek continues to grow, so does the need for places where our community can gather, celebrate milestones, and create lasting memories,” the city said. “The Assembly is being built to meet that need and become a destination that residents can enjoy for years to come.”
Construction Underway
Construction preparations began earlier last year, prompting significant changes to parking access around City Hall.
In a March 2025 update, the city notified residents that most of the City Hall parking lot would become inaccessible during construction. Temporary visitor parking was established near the traffic circle in front of City Hall and along the upper section of the parking lot closest to Highway 52.
Additional parking remains available beside the municipal court building and at the city’s recreation center.
Despite the construction activity, city officials said municipal operations continue uninterrupted.
“Business will continue as usual within city hall,” officials said last year. “As always, residents are welcome.”
The city’s drive-thru service remains open, although officials noted it will temporarily close later in the construction process. Advance notice will be provided before any closure occurs.
Partnership With Trident Construction
The city credited its partnership with Trident Construction for helping bring the project to life and said additional construction updates will be provided as work progresses.
Officials have described The Assembly as a transformational project that will create a new centerpiece for community gatherings, civic meetings and special events for decades to come.
“The end result will be worth this temporary inconvenience,” the city said.
Once completed, The Assembly at Goose Creek will stand alongside City Hall as one of the city’s primary public gathering spaces, serving residents through community celebrations, civic functions and private events well into the future.
