The South Carolina Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators has recognized the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce with a Palmetto Award of Excellence.
The statewide awards program recognized the Chamber campaign to “Keep the Penny, Fix our Roads.”
IABC-SC held its annual Palmetto Awards program at the Palmetto Club in Columbia on November 3rd.
“This year, our entries were judged by business leaders from larger markets – Nashville, St. Louis and Dallas,” said Patrick Cobb, President of the SC Chapter of IABC. “It’s very rewarding when professionals from other parts of the country tell us that work here in the Palmetto State is worthy of recognition.”
In the fall of 2014, the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce answered the call from its business community and launched “Keep the Penny, Fix our Roads” in order to earn a “yes” vote on a referendum to extend the county’s one-cent tax for road repairs. The vote passed by a 2-1 margin.
